On 12 March 2011, Green Zhu, partner of Hightime Law Office was invited to attend the seminar for comments on MSA Standard Agreement on Ship Pollution Response (Draft) in Purple Mountain Hotel, Shanghai which was organized by the State MSA of the Ministry of Transport of the PRC and held by the Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration.

As the representatives of the ship owners, COSCO Container Lines Co., Ltd and China Shipping Development Co., Ltd Tanker Company attended this seminar as well as Shanghai Dong An Oil Spilling Emergency Center, Guangdong Longshan Environmental Protection Co., Ltd and China Marine Services Co., Ltd, on behalf of pollution clean-up entities. Lawyer Mr. Greg Yang from Haitong & Partners is the other lawyer invited to attend this seminar.

Lawyer Green Zhu commented and provided some suggestions upon the nature of the Agreement, the parties to this Agreement, how clean-up cost and standby fee shall be charged and the legitimacy of the clause on liabilities between the ship and ship pollution clean-up entities, which was highly endorsed by participants and the Shanghai MSA. Ms. Ashley Xu, paralegal of Hightime accompanied the whole process of the seminar.
